The Berkeley County Prevention Board and its member agencies are sponsoring the 29th Annual Candlelight Memorial Services. The Prevention Board has hosted these Memorial Services each year since 1989. The purpose is to increase the awareness of driving while impaired, to remember loved ones who have lost their lives, and to remember all those who have been affected by crashes involving drunk drivers. There will be a special candle lighting ceremony in commemoration of victims and their families. We extend a special invitation to those who have lost a family member or have been otherwise affected because of an impaired driver to light a candle on behalf or in memory of your loved one. The program is one way the public can speak out against impaired driving. Another way you can help is to be a responsible host. Don’t let anyone get behind the wheel of a car after drinking or taking drugs. We ask that you join us at Moncks Corner AME Church at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13th. If you know a family who has been affected by a drunk or drugged driver, please encourage them to attend the ceremony. If you would like to share the family’s name and address with us, we will send them a special invitation. Please call us at 843 797-7871 ext. 113.
