Mission

To establish and maintain a supportive role in the educational field by encouraging individuals to continue to challenge themselves by enhancing their knowledge.

Purpose

The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce Scholarship is for academic support for children of Chamber of Commerce members. This is a $500 to $1,000 scholarship awarded to a High School seniors.

The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce Foundation administers the scholarship program. The scholarships is awarded each year.

Scholarship Use

The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, living costs, or any other need in support of the recipient's college education.

Selection

Screening and selection will be done by a committee consituted by the Board of Directors of the Chamber.

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on:

  • Scholastic achievement -- 2.5 GPA or above
  • Financial need
  • Citizenship, leadership, service and employment
  • Interview with the scholarship committee (only finalists will interview with the Committee)

Selection will be based on:

  • 40% Scholastic achievement
  • 15% Finanical need
  • 25% Citizenship, leadership, service and employment
  • 20% Interview with the Scholarship Committee
