Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) is a community-based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping homeless, poor, and disabled families achieve health and self-sufficiency, and to fighting against the root causes of poverty and homelessness. Established in 1971, BOSS provides Housing, Health, Economic Development, and Social Justice programs throughout Berkeley and the East Bay that serve over 1,500 homeless people each year, helping them turn their lives around.
