Featured Guests:
Carla Din, Director, East Bay Green Corridor Partnership
Sam Chapman, Manager, State & Community Relations, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
Carla Din and Sam Chapman will be discussing the development of the East Bay Green Corridor Partnership. She will briefly touch upon past accomplishments and focus on our top priorities. The partnership includes 8 cities, not 12, plus 5 academic and research organizations and the East Bay EDA. Carla has been the Director of the EBGCP for the past twelve months. Sam recently became Manager of State and Community Relations for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, which is one of the seven original institutions which founded the EBGCP in December, 2007.
Prior to taking on the very complex challenge of directing a partnership that includes twelve cities, UCB, and LBNL, Carla was Western Regional Director for the Apollo Alliance. In that position, she worked on public policy that improved energy efficiency in Oregon schools, that provided incentives for solar energy use in Hawaii, and that established Green Tech Partnership Academies in California high schools. Carla received her BA from UCB, and her MPA from University of Washington.
Prior to taking the position at LBNL earlier this year, Sam was Publisher of The Pacific Sun (2004-2010) and served as Chief of Staff for US Senator Barbara Boxer (1983-2004). Sam is a graduate of the Law School, UCB.
