Advocacy | Committee on Government Affairs
May 3, 2010

Monday, April 5, 2010, 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.

Berkeley City Council Member Darryl Moore (District 2) will be the distinguished guest of the Committee on Government Affairs, Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, on Mon., May 3, 2010, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.  The event will be held at the Chamber, 1834 University Ave., Berkeley, 94703 (second floor conference room).

Darryl represents one of the most important districts in the city because of the economic development opportunities it presents.  The Committee has been focusing this year on how Berkeley and the East Bay Green Corridor Partnership can work together and benefit each other.  What economic development takes place in Darryl's district is key to the growth of this relationship, and key to the development of West Berkeley as a healthy "local living economy."

Darryl has degrees in Sociology (UC Santa Cruz) and Public Policy (University of Chicago).  He has worked as a governmental budget analyst in Chicago, Washington, DC, and Berkeley.  He was elected to the Peralta Community College Board of Trustees in 2000, and became a member of the Berkeley City Council in 2004.

In addition to talking with Darryl, we will also take up to 30 minutes to discuss the Propositions on the June ballot.  We will make recommendations to the Chamber Executive Committee to Approve, Oppose, or Remain Neutral on each of these Propositions.
