UPCOMING GA MEETING
Monday, April 5, 2010, 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.
Topic: The East Bay Green Corridor Partnership and Its Effect on Economic Development of the City of Berkeley
Speakers: Julie Sinai, Chief of Staff to Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates
Michael Caplan, Director, Office of Economic Dev., City of Berkeley
Discussion: The East Bay Green Corridor Partnership (EBGCP), first conceived of in Dec., 2007, is a partnership which includes the Mayors of a dozen East Bay Cities, along with the Chancellor of UCB, and with the Director of LBNL. It is now in its third year of development. It appears to have tremendous potential for economic development of all the member cities. How much of that potential is being realized? How is the Partnership likely to develop over the next five years? How will Berkeley economic development be stimulated by the EBGCP? What can the Chamber do to help build a strong bond between the EBGCP and the city's economic development?
