About the Chamber
The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce is a private, not-for-profit organization established in 1900 to support business in Berkeley. The Chamber is not supported by any taxes, and members’ dues are a tax-deductible business expense.
The Berkeley Chamber is entirely independent from both the state and national chambers, whose policy positions we often disagree with, especially when it comes to our unwavering support for the environment, certified green businesses, and sustainability.
The Chamber is a mostly volunteer organization with a small staff to run daily operations. Board members serve on committees and are responsible for vision, strategy, and oversight. Many volunteers help promote the Chamber, support members, run events, and much more.
